Rain Gardens
Put in a Rain Garden this year!
Put in a Rain Garden this year! Rain gardens are designed in all shapes and sizes to utilize the water run-off from down-spouts for low-maintenance gardens that encourage water to penetrate into the ground rather than running off into the street or ditch. Holding water in the place that it falls improves water quality by filtering water down through the earth, recharges groundwater aquifers, alleviates storm water pressure and helps slow down the flow of water in rural and especially urban areas. The Seine Rat River Conservation District (SRRCD) contributes $500 of funding towards the design and implementation of a rain garden.
